Left Sacramento early in the morning so we could spend all afternoon sightseeing Yosemite Valley Floor. Our accomodations at Yosemite were tent cabins at Curry Village (thanks Robb!). Curry Village was established in the late 1800's and they have tried to keep it about the same since.
We were all thoroughly amazed at the beauty and amazing rock formations around Yosemite Valley - it will literally take your breath away. Seeing Half Dome and El Capitan in person is something everyone should do in their lifetime.
That evening we had a wonderful dinner at the Awahnee Hotel. It turned out that Rachel Ray was there dining in the same place, so the girls walked over and said hello to her - she told them they looked lovely and was very sweet to them!
The park rangers are extremely concerned about bears damaging your vehicle, as we found out three times during the night! At 7 pm, 10 pm and 2 am they were knocking on our door asking us to take things out of our car! Apparently, anything in the rectangular shape of an ice chest is "bear bait" - no sleep that night!
